Travel Air 6000 website

Website Design

Sometimes your hobbies and your work marry together. This project reflects that perfectly.

Our family has always had an interest in aviation. We’ve made the trek to Oshkosh, Wisconsin every summer for the EAA fly-in for decades. Through our brother, Jim Buxton, we were lucky enough to work on the restoration of the 1929 Travel Air 6000! It is a story in of itself  — and if you are interested, it’s detailed on this website we built from the ground up.

You’ll find the history of the airplane with a custom timline that we built on the site. In addition you can see the full restoration over several years and the ultimate prize of earning the highest honors in its class in Oshkosh 2021.

We also created signage and the judges book for this project. My brother Jim gets many of the photo credits. It was an honor and priviledge to work on the airplane, but also to create a website that detailed the hours of work to restore the Travel Air. Owned by Scott Glover, it is now located at Mid American Flight Museum in Mt. Pleasant, Texas.
